Recent Traveller Feedback
Flew SpiceJet from Delhi to Mumbai on the SpiceSaver fare with one checked bag of 14 kg and had no issues at all. The 15 kg domestic allowance was just enough for a short business trip, and my 7 kg cabin bag fit easily in the overhead bin. Just remember that your laptop counts toward the 7 kg cabin limit on SpiceJet.
Got caught out on my SpiceJet flight from Bangalore to Hyderabad because I did not realize the laptop bag is included in the 7 kg cabin allowance and not separate. My bag ended up being a bit over and I had to repack at the check-in counter. Definitely weigh everything together before you get to the airport on this airline.
Took SpiceJet from Kochi to Dubai and paid 3500 INR extra to pre-book additional baggage on top of the 30 kg included allowance. The Gulf route has a much more generous checked limit compared to domestic flights, which was great for my two-week holiday. Just make sure no single bag goes over 32 kg because the airport will not accept it.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much cabin baggage can I take on SpiceJet domestic flights?
Economy class passengers on SpiceJet domestic flights can bring one cabin bag weighing up to 7 kg with maximum dimensions of 55 x 35 x 25 cm for Boeing aircraft.
The laptop bag, purse and duty-free items all count toward the 7 kg total and there is no separate personal item allowance, unlike some other Indian carriers.
On smaller Q400 turboprop flights the cabin size limit is slightly smaller at 50 x 35 x 23 cm, so it is safest to stay within the standard Boeing limit.
Does my laptop bag count toward the 7 kg cabin limit on SpiceJet?
Yes, your laptop bag is included in the 7 kg cabin baggage allowance on SpiceJet and does not count as a separate free personal item.
This means you need to weigh your main roller bag and laptop bag together to make sure the total stays under 7 kg to avoid extra charges at the gate.
Many passengers get caught out by this rule, so it is always a good idea to weigh both items together before leaving for the airport.
What is the checked baggage allowance for SpiceJet economy domestic?
SpiceJet uses a weight concept for checked baggage on domestic routes and the standard SpiceSaver fare includes 15 kg of free checked luggage per passenger.
The SpiceMax fare increases the domestic checked allowance to 20 kg, and SpiceBiz business class gives you 30 kg of checked baggage plus a second cabin bag.
No single checked bag can weigh more than 32 kg due to airport handling restrictions, and each bag must stay within 158 cm total linear dimensions.
How much checked baggage do I get on SpiceJet international flights?
International checked baggage allowance on SpiceJet depends on the route, with most Gulf routes like Dubai and Sharjah including 30 kg in economy class.
Southeast Asian destinations such as Bangkok and Male usually come with a 20 kg economy allowance, so you should always check your specific route before you travel.
SpiceBiz business class on international flights generally includes 40 kg of checked baggage plus the additional cabin bag allowance.
What happens if my checked bag goes over the weight limit on SpiceJet?
If your checked bag exceeds the included weight allowance on SpiceJet you will have to pay excess baggage charges per kilogram at the airport.
Pre-booking extra weight online before your flight is usually much cheaper than paying at the check-in counter, especially on domestic routes.
Any single bag that weighs more than 32 kg cannot be accepted as regular checked baggage and may need to be sent as cargo instead.
