Flew Plus Ultra from Madrid to Lima in Economy Basic. My cabin bag and backpack together weighed 9.5 kg and the gate agent put them both on the scale. They count both items toward the 10 kg combined limit so I was glad I packed light. The 23 kg checked suitcase went through without any issues.
Travelled Plus Ultra Business Class from Buenos Aires to Madrid. I brought two rolling cabin bags plus a personal bag and all were accepted with no extra charge. The 16 kg combined allowance is generous and the overhead bins had plenty of space on the A330.
My checked bag weighed 27 kg on the way back from Caracas. Plus Ultra charged me 60 euros at the airport for the overweight between 23 and 32 kg. Next time I will book the extra weight online in advance to save a little money.
