Recent Traveller Feedback
Flew GO Flexi from Manila to Boracay with my diving gear. The 20kg included baggage was almost enough, but I went about 3kg over. At the airport they charged 700 PHP per kilogram for excess, which added up fast. I should have just upgraded my baggage online before the flight — you can add 4kg for only 700 PHP total, which is way cheaper than paying per kilo at the airport. Pro tip: if you're even close to the limit, pre-upgrade online. It saves you money and stress at check-in.

Tried bringing my usual 25L daypack as a personal item on Cebu Pacific and the agent at check-in stopped me immediately. The personal item size limit is only 20 x 20 x 36 cm, which is basically a small handbag or a very slim laptop sleeve. My backpack was way bigger — more like 30 x 20 x 45 cm. Had to count it as my hand carry instead, which meant I couldn't bring my rolling carry-on. If you fly Cebu Pacific, don't expect to bring a normal backpack as your personal item. It won't fit the sizer.
Got stopped at the boarding gate at Mactan-Cebu International Airport on my way back to Manila. My carry-on backpack was about 9kg and they had a scale right there. I thought the 7kg limit was just for the main bag, but no — it's 7kg total including your personal item. My laptop alone was 2kg, so the backpack could only be 5kg realistically. Had to check the bag at the gate for 2,000 PHP. Cebu Pacific is really strict about this — they weigh bags at every gate on busy routes.

Booked the cheapest GO Basic fare from Manila to Cebu and figured I'd just add baggage at the airport if I needed it. Total mistake. At NAIA Terminal 3 they wanted 2,500 PHP for a 20kg bag at the check-in counter, which is two and a half times what it costs if you pre-book online. I ended up paying more for the bag than the flight itself. Next time I'll either pack light or just get GO Easy — it includes 20kg checked baggage and isn't that much more expensive. Always add baggage during booking, never at the airport.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Cebu Pacific check if my carry-on bag is under 7 kg?
All Cebu Pacific passengers receive a 7 kg hand carry allowance regardless of fare type.
Passengers may bring one cabin bag for the overhead bin measuring up to 56 × 36 × 23 cm and one personal item for under the seat measuring up to 20 × 20 × 36 cm.
The 7 kg weight limit applies to both items combined, not each piece individually.
All dimensions include wheels, handles and pockets.
How many checked bags come with my Cebu Pacific ticket?
Checked baggage is only included in GO Easy and GO Flexi fare bundles, with one piece weighing up to 20 kg.
GO Basic fares do not include any free checked baggage and passengers must purchase baggage as an add-on.
Each checked bag can be upgraded by 4 kg, 8 kg or 12 kg increments up to a maximum of 32 kg.
Up to three pieces of checked baggage can be purchased online per passenger.
What is the maximum size for checked baggage on Cebu Pacific?
Each checked bag must not exceed 99 × 99 × 99 cm (39 × 39 × 39 in), which equals 297 cm total linear dimensions.
This is larger than the standard 158 cm limit on most full-service airlines because Cebu Pacific uses a different cargo loading system.
If your bag exceeds these dimensions, you will need to purchase the CEB Special Baggage add-on through the mobile app.
Is it cheaper to pre-book baggage online or buy it at the airport?
Pre-booking baggage online is significantly cheaper than buying at the airport.
A 20 kg prepaid bag costs around PHP 1,000 for domestic flights, while the same bag purchased at the airport costs PHP 2,500.
Overweight baggage fees at the airport are charged per kilogram, which can add up very quickly.
You can add or upgrade baggage online up to 2 hours before your flight through Manage Booking.
Can I bring a backpack as my personal item on Cebu Pacific?
The personal item size limit is only 20 × 20 × 36 cm, which is quite small.
Most standard backpacks will not fit within these dimensions and will be counted as your main cabin bag instead.
Suitable personal items include a small handbag, slim laptop sleeve, or very small purse.
If you bring both a rolling carry-on and a regular backpack, the backpack will likely need to be checked in.
Do infants get a free baggage allowance on Cebu Pacific?
Infants on lap do not receive any separate cabin or checked baggage allowance.
However, one fully collapsible stroller, infant car seat, or bassinet can be checked in free of charge.
Walking canes, wheelchairs, and mobility aids are also checked in for free for passengers who need them.
Infants with their own seat receive the same baggage allowance as adult passengers.
